JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – HUAWEI has launched the Mate 20 Series, hailed by the manufacturer as the most innovative phone range ever and projected to set a new bar for innovation and intelligence in mobile devices.
Launched north of Johannesburg on Tuesday evening, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has been dubbed “the king of smartphones.”
Akhram Mohamed, Chief Technology Officer at Huawei Consumer Business Group South Africa, said the Huawei Mate 20 series offered consumers a compelling combination of powerful artificial intelligence (AI), flagship performance, longer battery life, advanced security, a greater videography and photography experience, wrapped in a sophisticated design.
“It is the ultimate device made for those who will not settle for anything less than perfection,” noted Akram.
The Huawei Mate 20 Series is powered by the Kirin 980 chip, which offers improved performance and a smooth user experience, even after extended use.
The camera of the Mate 20 series also supports macro distance.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is equipped with a 40MP wide angle main camera, a 20MP ultra wide-angle camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera.
According to Huawei, the smartphone has taken the world by storm since its launch in London last week, and looks set to cement Huawei’s status as a premium smartphone manufacturer focused on innovation, quality and customer service.
The recommended retail price for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro starts from R18 999.
It is available on 24-month contract at Vodacom (799), MTN (R799), Telkom (699) and Cell C (1 399).
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is available on pre-order at www.huaweipromo.co.za from October 24 to October 31. A pre-order is guaranteed a free gift of a Huawei Watch GT Classic, valued at R5 499.
