Hundreds to gather for Saphila 2019
JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – MORE than 850 technology experts and executives will converge in South Africa next June to discuss prevailing trends in the fast changing industry.
The officials, including chief executive officers, information technology vendors, chief information officers (CIOs), chief data officers (CDOs), chief operating officers (COOs) and consultants will meet in Sun City under the auspices of the biennial Saphila.
African SAP User Group (AFSUG) is organising the technology conference where such trends as cyber security and digital transformation will be explored.
Tracey Greig, AFSUG Marketing and Operations Manager, said the summit would bring together SAP users to connect, create and collaborate, through sharing knowledge about innovations, implementation and service delivery.
“The targeted number of Exhibitors is set at 40, due to the space limitations within the Superbowl at Sun City,” Greig said in response to questions from CAJ News Africa.
Of the over 850 delegates, 500 will be SAP customers.
The 2019 Saphila will come immediately after the SAP’s global technology conference, SAPPHIRE, to be hosted in the United States.
American SAP User Group (ASUG) is organising SAPPHIRE.
“The main reason, June is the set date, is that it is soon after SAPPHIRE 2019 hosted in the USA alongside ASUG, to which the topics and new solutions launched at SAPPHIRE will be brought back to Africa,” Greig explained.
Saphila 2019 is scheduled for June 9-11.
Call for Paper’s will be opened in November.
“Saphila 2019 will be an immersive experience demonstrating that IT was rapidly reshaping not just daily life, but society as a whole, and allowing businesses in every industry to re-imagine what’s possible. Technology is embedded in everything we do, improving the ways we live, work and experience the world,” Greig concluded.
