Mnangagwa wins Zimbabwe presidency

HARARE, (CAJ News) – VETERAN nationalist Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa was elected Zimbabwe’s new president on Thursday night.
As such, Mnangagwa of the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU–PF) becomes the second democratically elected president since attaining independence in 1980.
Close challenger Nelson Chamisa of Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-Alliance), who initially claimed victory polled 217, 732 against Mnangagwa’s more than 3.1 million votes.
MDC, who continued to exhibit its childish conduct stormed the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) command centre rejecting the presidential outcomes.
