HARARE, (CAJ News) – ZIMBABWE striker, Prince Dube, is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to the Tanzanian Premiership.
The 23-year-old forward, currently on the books of Highlanders in Bulawayo, is apparently discussing a US$100 0000 move to Azam Football Club.
Kenneth Mhlophe, the Highlanders chairman, confirmed they were concluding negotiations with their Dar es Salaam-based counterparts.
“The club, the family and his agent are all involved in the negotiations. As you know, some of these things can be tricky,” Mhlophe said.
Among the tricky developments relate to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Because of the scourge, players have not been able to travel for trials outside Zimbabwean borders.
They largely rely on information from agents.
Dube’s agent is Gibson Mahachi, who facilitated numerous deals for Zimbabwean players locally and internationally.
The player previously had a short-lived stint at a South African Premiership side, SuperSport United.
A deal to take Dube to China also fell through in 2019.
He is an integral part of the Zimbabwe Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) side whose finals are slated for Cameroon in 2021.
